Wishbone Cello Stand
Wishbone Cello Stand
Project Description & Inspiration
Project Description & Inspiration
Problem: Create a cello stand that displays the beauty of the instrument, provides protective support, and is elegant on its own.
My Design: Uses stainless steel pipe to allow for graceful curving and excellent structural integrity while occupying a modest visual space. The cello is cradled in a strong but highly flexible fabric sling that bears the weight of the cello evenly without creating pressure points that could cause damage. An opening in the center of the sling allows for the cello’s end pin to poke through and helps to center the instrument. The bow is hung from a hook, but only makes contact with a lightly elastic string, an echo of the main sling.

Co-op: Crown Equipment
I worked for Crown Equipment, a heavy equipment design and manufacturing company. I worked on the exterior and human factor design side of their latest forklift, and assisted designers with brainstorming and sketching.
Some of the content I worked on during this co-op has been obscured or omitted in order to protect the IP of the company for which they were made and will be updated when permission is granted. During this co-op I created a personal project which can be viewed below.
